New Tarzan Slot Machine from Microgaming

Tarzan, a fictional character created by author Edgar Rice Burroughs at the turn of the twentieth century, became the subject of Microgaming’s first slot machine in December 2016. Microgaming finally released the long-awaited sequel, Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar, which lives up to the visual and functional standards set by the original game, simply titled Tarzan.

The Jewels of Opar: Tarzan and His Amazing Adventures

Tarzan of the Apes, the first Rice Burroughs novel to feature the “king of the jungle,” was the obvious inspiration for Microgaming’s initial Tarzan slot. The sixth novel in the series served as inspiration for this new game developed by Gameburger Studios. The novel was originally published in book form in 1918.

There isn’t a whole lot of complexity to the story of Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar. Because only Tarzan knows where a large cache of gold is hidden, he is being followed to the ancient site by an army commander named Werper who serves a criminal boss. After surviving being hit by rocks during an earthquake, Tarzan must deal with amnesia, the advances of La, the High Priestess of Opar, and Werper’s presence. Meanwhile, Werper’s unscrupulous boss has abducted Jane, Tarzan’s wife, and the great question is whether or not the jungle king will retrieve his memories in time to foil the bad guys and rescue Jane.

Timed Presentations and Slots

There are 20 possible outcomes in Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar, a video slot with five reels. Again, the game’s aesthetics are spectacular, depicting the fringe of the jungle near the long-lost metropolis of Opar. If you keep a close eye on the game world, you’ll notice a lot of movement and even Tarzan himself will swing by now and again, so be sure to respond to his calls.

J, Q, K, and A from standard playing cards, Werper, Jane, La, and Tarzan, and a black panther (a paying wild) are all featured symbols in this game. In addition to the wild and scatter symbols, there is also a jackpot scatter and a free spins scatter. As you spin the reels, a rhythmic score plays in the background, and there are lots of jungle sound effects to add an extra dose of authenticity to the gaming experience.

Free-Range Wilds

Tarzan will swing into action at random intervals, increasing the number of wild symbols on the reels by two or more. He can swing past the reels multiple times, increasing the number of wilds on the reels by a maximum of 15.

Wheel of Fortune with Free Turns

If you get three of the Free Spins scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, you’ll trigger a wheel where the number of free spins and multiplier for those spins is randomly determined. During this time, Random Wilds can appear, and you could win up to 30 free spins with a multiplier of up to 10x.

Scatter-Gem Jackpots

Any time three or more jackpot scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels, it’s good news because you win the jackpot and are paid out right away. If you’re lucky enough to land nine scatter symbols everywhere on the reels at once, you’ll be awarded the highest prize of 5,000 times your wager.

Classical Traits

Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar, according to Gameburger’s Director of Games Andrew Booth, “has all the hallmarks of a classic Microgaming title,” meaning that it is both entertaining and playable. The game was a smash hit during its limited early release window, ranking in our top five games for each operator in terms of player retention. Players will like this fresh take on a well-known title.

Valued the Wait

Microgaming’s Tarzan fans have had to wait nearly four years for this sequel, and we’re happy to report that the wait was well worth it with the release of Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar. Head on over to the Casumo casino if you’re up for an exciting journey, even if you haven’t read the source material.
